About me

Hi, I’m Melissa! I can’t wait to help you on your journey to motherhood.

Stepping into Motherhood is a wild ride—one filled with excitement, anticipation, nervousness, and doubt. I know this first-hand, not only as a mother but also as a practitioner. Here's my story.

When I was 25, I worked as a patient coordinator and medical interpreter, supporting Hispanic women during their OBGYN appointments. These women often lacked the support they needed, and their prenatal care focused mainly on physical health, neglecting emotional and spiritual well-being. It was in this season of my life that I realized we could—and must—do better for women and mothers.

At 27, I trained as a doula to assist a friend with her natural birth. Little did I know, this experience would catapult me into my life's calling: creating Mother Nurture Midwife. Witnessing her empowered experience with midwives was a turning point for me. I volunteered as a doula, and soon after, pursued a career as a midwife. My passion is to guide women in discovering what’s best for their bodies and babies through holistic education and attentive listening.

Even though I had a midwife during my first pregnancy, I wasn’t fully encouraged to trust my instincts or do what I felt was right for me and my baby. That experience taught me the power of setting boundaries during pregnancy and showed me the need for a space where mothers are seen, heard, and supported—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. It’s also why I am deeply committed to helping women heal their own patterns and develop the confidence and skills needed to birth and raise healthy, happy babies.
